Run for the Fallen – Connecticut

August 17, 2014

There is a very special event coming up in Middletown on Saturday, September 6th called the Run for the Fallen CT

Each year, runners pay tribute to our Military heroes by running in their honor.  The race consists of a 65 KM course (eight 5-mile laps) in honor of the 65 Connecticut men and women on the Wall of Honor in Hartford; heroes who all gave their lives in in the War on Terror.

THERE IS NO COST TO REGISTER!  NOTE:  THIS IS NOT A RACE BUT A GROUP RUN!  The group will be running approximately 10 minute miles.

Jon Romeo thought it might be nice to have a team from Achilles complete the event as a Relay team, and he will be the point person for the event.  Jon’s son is in the military and he has done this amazing event in the past (and is running again this year).

This event is open to our athletes and guides/volunteers to sign up for a lap (or two) and see if we could fill all eight laps.

·       Lap 1: 6:00 AM to 6:50 AM

·       Lap 2: 7:00 AM to 7:50 AM

·       Lap 3: 8:00 AM to 8:50 AM

·       Lap 4: 9:00 AM to 9:50 AM

·       Lap 5: 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM

·       Lap 6: 11:00 AM to 11:50 AM

·       Lap 7: Noon to 12:50 PM

·       Lap 8: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM

This is the course map for the Run for the Fallen – CT.  It includes an elevation profile which might be of particular interest to the hand cycle and wheel chair athletes.
